Lilikoi grows in sunny locations, in low to medium elevations, mésic forests (moderately humid).
Vigorous vine that can reach between 6 – 10 meters, very aromatic, of orange pulp, bright, sweet and very tasty.
It supports temperatures up to (- 5 ° C) after well established and adapted very well at altitudes that can range from sea level up to 1500 meters.
It is cultivated mainly for its tasty fruits and as an ornamental species. Its fruits are usually consumed in natura, in the preparation of juices, jams, jellies and ice creams.
The pulp of the fruit is very tasty, it has musk fragrance that is used to aromatize desserts and pies
in Hawaii, lilikoi is commonly used to flavor the ice, a popular Hawaiian treat.
Extremely productive variety. In dense spacing, with good control of weeds and adequate fertilization the annual harvest can reach 300 – 350 fruits per vine, that is 400,000 to 600,000 fruits per ha.
